RE: Installed shocks ... should the distance be....

Maybe I stated the concern incorrectly. I have only 1 1/2" of travel left if I were to put enought weight in trailer to squat it that much farther. As compared to 3 1/2" the other way. I would think ideal would be to have same amount each way for travel?? I agree that somewhat equal amounts either way would be better. The 1.5" you have doesn't seem to be enough. Maybe the shocks are too long for the trailer. Kinda of what I am thinking, only ones I could find though. My measurements at fisrt seemed like they would work but I think that when the give you compreesed and extended lengths they do not take into account the space that the rubber bushings are going to take up, hnece why it I have more upward travel than down. Think I am going to shave the bushing in half.

RE: Installed shocks ... should the distance be....

No-the valving is on the shock shaft and is not "position sensative". I understand that, I am just concerned that I will have enough travel distance in the downward travel.

Installed shocks ... should the distance be....

Ok I installed some shocks on my trailer in the mounts already on trailer. I ordered the shocks from ShockWarehouse. My question is should the travel be of equal distance for the shock in both directions, when installed? The total stroke of the shock is 4.875" and they have 1.5" travel before they would bottom out now that they are on trailer. I could maybe gain another 1/2" if I shave the rubber bushings down in half on both ends. Thanks

RE: Fuel gauge not working on Toy Hauler

Well new gauge arrived and still not working. Oh well will get it looked at at end of season withht the 2 dozen other problems on My quality KZ product. Wonder where they took the awards rep out too for entertainment in order to win all those awards every year?

RE: Pros and cons of Wolf Pack 27DFWP

I have had extensive problems with a wolfpack 386WP. Forest river would not be my first choice in a toyhauler due to their lack of custome service, poor quality workmanship, high frequency of repairs, lack of attention to details, poor quality of materials, lots of chinese parts Hey my KZ is supposed to be from a manufacturer that won awards 6 years in a row, To me my previous Cherokee TT beat the KZ hands down. MY KZ IMHO is put together with the cheapest labour they can possbly find and most shortcuts. I say this as I have worked on 4 different brands of trailers and they all lack workmanship. MY frind just bought the Cherokee 30WP and it was less then my Trailer and has more little things on it that make a difference. Like better suspension, LCD TV, better awnining, aluminum rims, fuel pump timer and water proof shut off switch etc etc.

RE: No out side filling station for water tanks??????

So your telling me that there are some TT's that don't have a separate fill for the fresh H2O tank? You know, the door that you open up and there is a cap that you unscrew and stick a hose in it??? My motorhome doesn't, I "assume" it is the same for some TTs. I hook up hose to fitting and valve shoots it either into tank to fill or into system. bumpy Probably would not be so bad if hey put the valve in a convenient spot outside or inside a storage compartment on the side of water hook up. For our needs neither would work as we camp in places with no water at camp sites, and we need to get water in 5 gallon jugs and empty them into the tank

RE: No out side filling station for water tanks??????

Well I added an outside gravity filling station. $17 at Camping World. The one with the door. Had local RV dealer add a connecter to tank.

Where to buy shocks for trailer

Where can I get the best price for shocks for my trailer. I noticed the other day the the mounting brackets are already in place on the frame and axles. Are they a standard size or what measurrement would I need to know?

RE: Fuel gauge not working on Toy Hauler

Ok this is what I have found. I have 12 volts at gauge on one pin and 9.5 volts on the other. I assume the gauge to be defective so I have asked the dealer to order me one.

Anyone boondock around South River Ontario

Looking to go to that area, just thought I would ask if anyone else has been there already.

RE: Ontario fee on large MH passing through

I tend to think the Ohio turnpike(I80?)is much nicer and you can travel on that for 50 miles and pay only $2. So yes it it a &^%$$^%$ rip off on top of the fact we paid to build it and sold for pennies on the dollar. Maybe the people here speaking up for it are also in favour of a new carbon tax here in Canada? Be worth it right?

RE: Fuel gauge not working on Toy Hauler

Gauge Never worked. Yep pump works. Will check for the power at gauge. There is a switch for pump only right by nozzle( that will probably fail as the connections are going to get spray from the road)So I guess I will go bang on the tank tomorrow. Mine does not have any buttons to push, guessing it operates all the time.

RE: Fuel gauge not working on Toy Hauler

Fuel gauge not working on Toy Hauler

Any ideas why my fuel gauge is not be working, Have not taken it apart yet to look. So what should I be checking for at the gauge? Does not work if pump is on or off.

RE: Getting ATVs to the riding spot when at the campground?

Here is my thought on this. What if you took a aluminum trailer 8x8. and mount it on back of TH with some sort of brackets so the trailer is standing up against back door, with tires and axles facing towards the back. Might have to have a removable tongue. Now the only problem I see is weight? How much would these way and would it be to much on back of trailer if say it was directly supported on each side by frame?

Sealant around windows or at least on top

Just wondering do all unit have sealant around the window frames, outside shower door....etc? My new one does not ( at least not yet). What kind should I use? Just good old exterior white window sealant from Home Depot?

RE: Prodigy Setting, to hard then to soft

Oh it will stop the trailer alright just to much variance at different speeds. I could check brakes to make sure they are set. But me thinks the company that they get them from would ship them already set up.

RE: Prodigy Setting, to hard then to soft

IMO try setting it per manual. That worked great for me. I have used this on 3 trailers now and not one will function as per set up instructions. Nor have I seen anyone be able to lock up there tires on dry pavement. I am beginning to think it is just what each individual feels is proper braking power. Just like some people think their F150 tows that 8000# trailer just fine and gets great MPG.
